It turns out that the heroes are setting themselves more and more comfortable goals. If they respond to fans’ upsets with promises of help, any unmet delays or guarantees become media stories, creating complications.
Prior to Devara’s release, NTR provided a ventilator over the phone, which promised him canopy medical costs.
Following his words, the enthusiasts jointly raised RS 10 to 12 Lakhs, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams contributed RS Lakhs and Aarogyasri added Rs 10 Lakhs for the patient.
Despite these efforts, media attention shifted to NTR, questioning why he hadn’t contributed yet, when the patient’s mother expressed this. Fans had to step in to clarify the matter on his behalf.
It is reported that hospital expenses have reached 77 Lakh rupees due to delays. It is said that since the amounts of TTD and Arogyasri went directly to the hospital, the amount donated through enthusiasts was used to pay some loans obtained above.
NTR’s office later intervened, personally negotiating with the hospital, paying a portion of the bill, purchasing medicines and a wheelchair, and ensuring the patient was sent home.
NTR’s contribution would be around Rs nine to 10 lakhs, distinct from fans’ donations.
The challenge has rarely to do with money, but with the growing pressure on the heroes. If this continues, there is the threat that they simply become indifferent to those causes, affecting in the end those who in fact want help.
