The administrators of the long-awaited movie “Hiccups and Hookups” released an original and fun trailer on Monday. The fashion show, starring Lara Dutta Bhupathi, Prateik Babbar and Shinnova, reveals the life of a family, breaking stereotypes and redefining the concept of family.
The two-and-a-half minute trailer begins with Prateik’s character, Akhil, who volunteers to profile his older sister Vasudha (Lara) on a dating app. The third member of this circle of relatives is Vasudha’s teenage daughter, Kavanya. The trailer offers a glimpse into the fun, vulnerable, and intimate facets of the lives of Vasudha, Akhil, and Kavanya, living under the same roof and everyone else. However, their antics will surprise you.
In the series, Vasudha rediscovers life after separation at the age of 40. Navigating the complicated terrain of dating as a forty-year-old woman, she attempts to be sexually adventurous for the first time in her life. Speaking about her character, Lara revealed, “I had a wonderful time watching Vasudha on screen. Playing the leading role she has 40 years on screen is a stimulating feeling. The fact that Lionsgate Play chose to tell the story of a 40-year-old woman and highlight subjects who are taboo or who don’t locate a voice, is exciting for me to dig deeper. Vasudha’s character has many layers and she is very available for the kind of conditions and scenarios in which she digs herself up. I can’t wait to see how the audience reacts. to our show.

Prateik plays Akhil, the CEO of a dating app who is a cool cucumber. But under the cool exterior, he is also suffering with emotions. Speaking about his role, Prateik shared: “Akhil laughs a lot to play. He is an entrepreneur who has discovered gold with his start-up and needs to have interaction in relationships that do not come with the permanence label.
Shinnova’s character is that of Lara’s daughter, a woman who believes in living on her own terms. Accepting her parents’ breakup, the teen evaluates her equation with her parents while understanding gender and transitioning to adulthood. There are no filters in this circle of relatives and this is how they like it. “Hiccups and Hookups” is directed through Kunal Kohli and will air on Lionsgate Play starting November 26.
