The Phoenix Police Department draws attention to unsolved homicides in a series of videos titled “Hot Desert, Unsolved Cases.”The series highlights homicide cases in the region that have been resolved.
In addition, Silent Witness increases the praise of leading to the arrest and/or prosecution of the suspect or suspected crime. The praise will be $5,000 for the first 4 bloodless cases.
“They told me my mom was in the coffin,” recalls Vanessa Marquez, “I was just crying and looking to put my hand on.”
Vanessa visits the grave of her mother, Nicole Aguilera. In January 1991, Nicole, 18, was murdered, a murder that had not been solved for about 30 years.
“People call their mom on the phone, ” said Vanessa.”We’ve never been to do that.”
Vanessa and her younger sister Reina Salaiz have lived most of their lives without a mother.Vanessa was 3 at the time of the murder. He lived with his grandmother, Queen, for only five months and in his crib in the next room where his mother murdered.
“All I know is that someone heard me cry, then they came in and grabbed me,” Reina said.”Sometimes I think I don’t know yet. Maybe it’s just my imagination.
Detectives report that in the early hours of January 17, 1991, neighbors heard loud voices coming from Nicole’s apartment south of Phoenix, near 3rd Avenue and Buckeye Road.Later that morning, a baby was crying. That’s when a neighbor searched the apartment, and seeing the back door open, he came in to locate Nicole dead. The baby, Queen, was unhinged.
“This case caught my attention with sheer brutality,” said Phoenix police detective Dominick Roestenberg.Nicole stabbed, according to the coroner’s office, more than 90 times. Most of his injuries occurred on his face and neck.”
Detective Roestenberg said there was little forensic evidence at the scene, let alone witness data, making the case difficult.Detective Roestenberg said he had reviewed many cases in his career, but this one stands out.
“It’s hard to believe stab someone,” Detective Roestenberg says. But the fact that you can stab someone repeatedly, more than 90 times, especially in the face and neck, takes them to another level.”
Vanessa and Reina are now adults. They are wives, and the moms themselves, however, have said that nothing replaces all lost moments with their own mother, and they still expect the user to be arrested for the murder of his mother.
“They stole our childhood, ” said Vanessa.” It affected us. It does.Because a mother is anything we still want to this day.And we don’t have it.”
If you have data on this case, tap Silent Witness at 480-Witness, or leave an un named recommendation on the Silent Witness website. It will have no name and you can earn a reward in money.
