The film starring Hollywood star Brad Pitt and Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton was well-received after the paddock saw some footage. F1 bosses unveiled the pilot segments of the task at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, last month.
Filming for the production, which is expected to be called “Apex,” has taken place at circuits across Europe during this season’s race weekends. Pitt and co-star Damson Idris were at Silverstone for the British GP, the old asphalt scenery on a Formula 2 car for scenes.
Later that summer, filming continued at the Hungarian GP, but Pitt wasn’t on location. Then, at the beginning of September, cameras were also provided at the Italian GP to continue filming.
Production was also scheduled for last weekend’s Dutch GP, but did not take place. Reportedly, the strike through the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) affected the making of the film.

However, four race weekends after being at Monza, the drivers watched clips of the shooting while at the Circuit of the Americas. F1 photographer Kym Illman revealed on his eponymous YouTube channel what the secret screening was like.
“At the driver briefing in Austin on Friday night, drivers watched some clips from Brad Pitt’s upcoming movie,” the photographer said. “And I talked to those who saw it and gave it an 8 out of 10 rating.
“Which is wonderful news because this film has the opportunity to generate significant interest in F1. “Illman also reiterated that Pitt has been back on track since Silverstone.
The American spoke to British broadcaster Sky Sports over the weekend and shared his enthusiasm for the project. “I have to say, I’m a little dizzy now,” Pitt said.
“And it’s just wonderful to be here, man. We laughed, we laughed. It’s the most productive time of my life.
“Listen, everything went well. I mean, the vibe is amazing, you know, but to be able to be a component of this in that way and to be able to tell our story, and everybody’s been great with us.
“All the groups have opened their doors to us, the FIA, [FIA president] Mohammad [Ben Sulayem] has been very helpful. And F1, [F1 CEO] Stefano [Domenicali], they’ve all been incredible; We can do it. And it’s going to be good.
However, it is unlikely that the score of 8/10 comes from current world champion Max Verstappen. “I’m not worried at all,” he said when asked about the film this summer.
“At the end of the day, a film is made to create a bit of spectacle. Because yes, of course, not everything will be real. But I think it’s okay. Actually, I’m not that interested in him. “
