How the MCU Will Cancel Jonathan Majors’ Kang, Claims Wild Rumor

Marvel Cinematic Universe is a well-oiled machine that is constantly expanding thanks to theatrical projects and streaming with a Disney subscription. Those of us who have spent years watching Marvel movies know that the studio that makes Kang Thanos’ next level risk for the MCU. But the firing of Jonathan Majors put a damper on those plans, and now the next Avengers movie will be titled Doomsday and will focus on Robert Downey Jr. ‘s Doctor Doom. Kang.

What we know about Avengers: Doomsday is limited, but it’s a clear sign that Kang will no longer be the MCU’s big bad. Fans have been wondering about this since Major League Baseball’s legal problems went viral. And a new rumor reported via CBM claims that the strategy to put Kang back into combo is just for him to avoid appearing in combo.

According to this report, an upcoming Marvel movie will verify that Loki’s Time Variation Authority controlled to prune the Kang variants before they can unite and start an all-out multiversal war. Unfortunately, it turns out that the Ant-Man 3 credits scene involves all the variants of a narrative that may never be completed. In other words, assuming those rumors are true.

Of course, we’ll probably take this report with a grain of salt for now. . . at least until official news from Marvel Studios arrives. However, Robert Downey Jr. ‘s Doctor Doom is intended to be the big bad in the next two Avengers movies (which will also feature the return of the Russo brothers). But ever since The Kang Dynasty was renamed Doomsday, clues have been clear that the MCU might abandon the multiversal villain as a character/plot.

Simply manipulating Kang off-camera would be an ambitious upgrade, especially since his role ran through two seasons of Loki and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. After Majors’ legal troubles went viral, some enthusiasts thought that Marvel might update Jonathan Majors with some other actor and thus continue Kang’s story. After all, it is possible that the use of variants has allowed for a major update in its appearance. But now it looks like the MCU could leave the whole story without a genuine conclusion.

Of course, the fact that Robert Downey Jr. is returning to Marvel as Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom may be so exciting that enthusiasts will settle for Kang being no more. We’ll just have to wait for the studio. to make an official decision, or for an exposition to reveal Kang’s fate in the shared universe.

The next MCU movie in theaters is Captain America: Brave New World on February 14. For now, check the 2025 movie dates.
