Borderlands will eventually launch on Starz, then Netflix or Disney, followed by Peacock, given distributor Lionsgate’s licensing deals.
Lionsgate has yet to announce a streaming date for Borderlands. Two of the streaming distributor’s upcoming films, The Strangers: Chapter One and Imaginary, will arrive on Starz 136 and 180 days after their respective theatrical debuts. If the distributor does the same here, Borderlands will come to Starz between Christmas and early February.
Borderlands is an adaptation of Gearbox and 2K’s high-octane looting and shooting video franchise. Here’s the official synopsis for Lionsgate:
Lilith, a prominent bounty hunter with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home, Pandora, the most chaotic planet in the galaxy. Her project is to help Atlas’ missing daughter, the S. O. B. , the toughest in the universe.
Lilith bureaucracy an unforeseen alliance with a ragtag team of misfits: Roland, an experienced mercenary with a mission; Tiny Tina, a wild preteen wrecking ball; Krieg, Tina’s muscular protector; Tannis, the strange scientist who has figured it all out; and Claptrap, an intelligent robot. Together, these unlikely heroes will have to fight an alien species and harmful bandits to uncover one of Pandora’s most explosive secrets. The fate of the universe may be in their hands, but they will fight for something else: each other.

Borderlands is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, language, and some suggestive elements. The film has a total duration of 1 hour and 42 minutes, credits.
