Hudson Meek, the teenage actor best known for the 2017 action film Baby Driver, died on December 21 after he fell from a moving car in Alabama. He was 16.
Meek was injured in the Birmingham suburb of Vestavia Hills on Thursday, December 19. He died two days later at UAB Hospital.
“Our hearts are damaged to the percentage that Hudson Meek returned the house to be with Jesus tonight,” reads an article about Meek’s Instagram account.
Born on August 5, 2008, Hudson and his brother, Tucker, began acting at an early age. According to IMDb, his first on-screen appearance was at age six in the 2014 TV movie The Santa Con. He accumulated 17 credits, including film 90 Minutes in Heaven in 2015, and episodes of the MacGyver reboot, Genius and Found.
Lynne Marks, one of Meek’s representatives, shared a Thursday saying she was “proud to represent Hudson Meek. “
“I have seen him go from being a young actor in Baby Driver to a handsome young man, proudly walking on the red carpets of his next projects. Hudson’s long career as an actor is brilliant. He was part of the cast of a new film called the School duel that won the 50th Anniversary Award at the Deauville Film Festival in France this year, “he said.
Following his passing, The Hudson J. Meek Memorial Scholarship was set up and will be awarded annually to a Vestavia Hills High School student.
