James Murdoch has resigned from the board of News Corp, citing “disagreements” with the editorial content put out by its news outlets/
“I hereby tender my resignation as a member of the Board of Directors of News Corporation, effective as of the date hereof,” Murdoch, who served on the board since 2013, wrote in his letter of resignation on Friday.
“My resignation is due to disagreements over certain editorial content published by the Company’s news outlets and certain other strategic decisions,” Murdoch added.
In a statement to the Washington Examiner, Rupert Murdoch, father of James and the executive chairman of News Corp and Lachlan Murdoch, the co-chairman and brother of James, expressed gratitude to their colleague and family member.
“We’re grateful to James for his many years of service to the company. We wish him the very best in his future endeavors,” they said in a joint statement.
