John Capodice’s death: the 83-year-old actor

John Capodice, who accumulated more than 150 credits as an actor of his career according to IMDB, died on Monday. He was 83 years old. The cause of death has not been announced.

Born December 25, 1941 in Chicago, John Capodice began his film and television career in the late 1970s. His first TV role was in six episodes of the daytime drama Ryan’s Hope in 1978. From there he began his lengthy run guest-starring on television including episodes of Spenser: For Hire, The Equalizer, The Ellen Burstyn Show, The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd, Kate & Allie, Moonlighting, and Murphy Brown in the 1980s.

Capodice’s niche as an actor fell into 3 types: menacing gangsters, gruff cops or scruffy working class types.

There is no shortage of other places invited to participate in the 1990s and beyond, notably the nodes Landing, Hunter, Law & Order, Seinfeld, Melrose Place, Nypd Blue, Dream on, Boy Meets, Boy Meets World, Murder, She Written . , Will & Grace and six episodes of General Hospital. His subsequent television appearances included The West Wing, Six Feet Under, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Monk and, most recently, the verbal exchange with Mobster in 2024.

Capodice’s film credits included roles in Wall Street, The Doors, Honeymoon in Vegas, Speed, Ace Venture: Pet Detective, and Independence Day. He has also worked in theater, basically in Off-Broadway productions. And he has appeared in commercials, most notably as Fred in an iconic Polly-O String Cheese commercial.

Capodice is survived by his wife Jane, daughters Tessa De Pierro and Cassandra Hansen, and four grandchildren: David, Jake, Frankie and Giuliana.
