Author Gregory McDonald has written the series of nine novels starring Fletch’s character. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hamm said he read them all after watching the film Fletch. first lesson on how other people adapt the characters to the screen. “He also noted that Fletch’s characterization of Chase is different from the novels.
“The character in the eBook is very different from Chevy’s performance,” Hamm explained.
For Star of Mad Men, he will also play Fletch in his own way; Hamm says he doesn’t aim to model Chase’s edition of Fletch.

“No one can play Chevy’s interpretation of this character,” he said enthusiastically. Hamm developed his own interpretation of the role:
. . . I don’t need to imitate Chevy, We already have this edition, so there’s a way to get a more faithful edition to the life of the book, more intellectual and a little more vivid in its sensitivity.
Hamm is probably the most productive known for his portrayal of advertising director Don Draper in the AMC drama series Mad Men; however, he also enjoys humor a lot. His well-executed comedian roles in 30 Rock, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Saturday Night Live serve him well in the reboot version of fletch.
Hamm produced the film Miramax, starring Connie Tavel, directed by Greg Mottola, known for comedy projects such as Superbad and Arrested Development.

In an interview on The Today show, Hamm shared more about the vision of the new film.
“Obviously, let’s redo the Chevy Chase edition of Fletch. It’s perfect. It exists where it is,” he said.
The existing script is written through Zev Borrow (known as Chuck and Forever). The rebooted story will remain in the eBook of the moment in the McDonald’s series, which begins with Fletch’s to Boston.
“We think there’s a little more story to tell, ” said Hamm. “Once we have a script, we’re out of the races. It’s very exciting. “
