July 17, 1955: Disneyland has a complicated start, but despite all the settings, the circle of relatives goes on vacation forever.

Disneyland, California’s beloved playground of emotions and the mind of young people and adults, opened its doors to the public 65 years ago, on July 17, 1955.

The concept of Disneyland began when Walt Disney visited Griffith Park in Los Angeles with their daughters. Disney may also have been influenced by his father’s memories of the 1893 Colombian World’s Fair in Chicago (his father worked on the exhibition).

The typical amusement parks of the time were dirty and disorganized, known for serving too much consumers at the beer stand and attracting crime.

While others wrote letters to Disney about visiting Walt Disney Studios and the experience, he learned that a functional film studio had little to offer enthusiastic visitors and began to inspire concepts to build a site near Burbank Studios for tourists.

For example, Disney acquired acres of orange groves in Anaheim, California.

Construction began on July 16, 1954 and charged $17 million to complete

Unfortunately, the event, which opened on July 17, 1955, was nothing short of a general disaster. Overcrowding, dreadful traffic, poor plumbing and a fuel leak forced operators to close 3 of the five “camps” a few hours after the park opened.

Later, Disney and its executives from 1955, July 17, 1955, “Black Sunday”.

However, Disneyland has recovered and, over the decades, has been highlighted by attractions such as The Space Mountain, It’s a Small World, The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
