Odeon of Kilmarnock is expected to reopen next week, the bosses confirmed.
The city’s moviegoers had to wait about five months to recover their dose after the country crashed in March.
Scottish cinemas have been able to reopen from 15 July since the easing of restrictions across the country.
But the Kilmarnock branch of the Odeon did not reopen when the announcement was made last month.
Many moviegoers had feared that the cinema would reopen in the city.
But today, the film director showed that he would reopen from Friday, August 21.
Stephen Dempster also said that many adjustments have been made for the film to enjoy while living with the risk of coronavirus.
Mr. Dempster said: “We are very happy to announce that the Odeon will reopen from 21 August, and you can now buy tickets.
“We’ve made many adjustments to create a new, safer movie fun for you, and we look forward to welcoming you.
Odeon’s bosses told us that they had taken a number of steps to improve their cinemas in the face of the pandemic.
For certain consumers to enjoy a safer film in the maximum controlled environment, Odeon has worked with the UK Film Association and the UK government to introduce advanced conditioning and protection measures on the site.
Security measures include:
Safer shopping
A safer space
Improved cleaning through well-trained equipment
