According to coach Jon Cooper, Stamkos (lower body) is still in rehab and is not available for the start of the Tampa Bay second-round game with the Bruins, Bryan Burns reports from the Lightning’s official website.
Stamkos is still recovering from the lower body injury he suffered at the pre-Lightning series education camp. The 30-year-old striker has not yet begun education with his teammates, so at this point he deserves to be considered retired indefinitely the moment the circular begins with Sunday’s first game against the Bruins. Tyler Johnson and Alex Killorn deserve to continue skating on the Bolts’ Second Line until Stamkos is able to return, when possible.
