EXCLUSIVE: After taking your time to find out where you need the next episode of Tron to go, the Disney sci-fi franchise turns out to have a new life while we hear garth Davis have been asked to direct the photo with Jared Leto.
Davis has been best known for his small authorial films over the years, such as Mary Magdalene in 2018 and his critically acclaimed drama Lion in 2016, which earned six Oscar nominations, adding Best Picture. Tron would mark Davis’ top spot, and is not known for his big-budget projects, connoisseurs say Davis actively pursued the job and eventually won over the leaders.

The original 1982 film starring Jeff Bridges was included in the PC show Grid, where a hacker is kidnapped and forced into gladiator games. The film was not a good fortune and won mixed reviews, even though its special effects were even thought to be becoming at the time. The cult that followed the film for years to come while playing on cable only increased its popularity, to the point that Disney went ahead with a sequel, Tron: Legacy, in 2010, with Bridges reprising their role and Garret Hedlund and Olivia Wilde. register for the franchise.
The film continued to be a hit in the workplace, grossing $400 million worldwide, but still, plans for a sequel were boosted when Disney figured out how to move the story forward. The studio eventually abandoned plans for a direct sequel to Tron: Legacy, and even after Leto was attached in 2017 and took its time for the next steps of this project.
Davis, who arrives on assignment, reports that the next episode may nonetheless happen, but those inside still point out that no green touch has been given. The film is still in development, but Davis’ involvement is a push in the right direction for the long term of the franchise.
