The UK’s National Film and Television School (NFTS) has selected 20 executives for the 2024 edition of Inside Pictures, the education and progression programme for film and television companies.
Among the participants is Swedish producer Erik Hemmendorff, who has directed all of Ruben Ostlund’s feature films, including Palme d’Or winners The Square and Triangle Of Sadness, the duo’s Plattform Produktion.
They also decided on Alex Gardener-Smith, director of business planning at Lionsgate UK; Charlotte López, Vice President of International Sales at Studiocanal; and David Swetman, senior vice president of content and business strategy at All3Media International.
Inside Pictures is made up of 3 one-week modules, starting in June 2024 and ending in January 2025. It will be delivered to users in London and Los Angeles.
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of film and television and will be provided with the equipment and wisdom to tackle complex challenges.
The show is now in its twenty-first year and has been run by Inside Pictures for over thirteen years. It is supported by ScreenSkills through the Future Film Skills Program and the High-end TV Skills Fund.
“The 2024 lineup, which includes first-time participating corporations such as All3Media International and Fremantle, underscores our commitment to advancing the film and television industries globally,” said Clare Crean, chief content officer for the Inside Pictures program.
“The Film Skills Fund and the High-end TV Skills Fund continue to jointly identify and invest in systems that recognize the developing synergies between film and television, and this partnership with NFTS and DCMS underscores our continued commitment to supporting leadership education so that others can build their careers for the long term,” said Barry Ryan, president of the HETV Skills Council.
Participants in last year’s show included Daisy Mount, head of Amazon Studios, and Kevin Chan, co-head of acquisitions at Mubi.
