LUKE CAGE Showrunner shows why Mahershala Ali’s Cottonmouth killed so early

Luke Cage’s first seven episodes were among the most productive you can expect to find on television, and much of that can be attributed to Cottonmouth’s performance through Oscar winner Mahershala Ali. One of the most productive villains ever appeared in Marvel Cinematic Universe (or Marvel TV Universe), his death was a genuine surprise and a turning point for the Netflix series.

Unfortunately, this is not a positive change, as the quality of the series decreased significantly from there thanks to Diamonback’s arrival and the resolution of leaving Luke in a coma for a handful of episodes. Many blame Cottonmouth’s death for this decline and wonder why he killed so early.

Responding to a Twitter fan, Luke Cage showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker explained that they really only had Ali for those seven episodes, and so he agreed to star in the Netflix series. As a result, Coker’s hands were tied behind him to some extent, although there are still no reproaches to Ali’s paintings like Cottonmouth, although the series may have used him as a great villain.

On the plus side, he’s on his way to the MCU after he decided on Blade, an announcement he made at Last Year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Unfortunately, we still don’t know when and where your debut will take place, and COVID-19 is probably late anyway.
