Major Ipswich-based organization invests in JCB X Series models

The Ipswich-based construction company has purchased JCB X Series models to operate on residential and general construction sites, as well as for high-profile energy contract work across the UK.

They are supplied through dealer Watling JCB and subscribe to existing JCB Loadall telehandlers and backhoes in the Tru7 Group fleet.

Guy Nicholls, CEO and owner of the Tru7 Group, said: “Our family circle has a long history of purchasing JCB machines, especially their telescopic handlers. At the time, one of our previous corporations operated the largest fleet in Europe.

“We kept hearing about the quality of the JCB 140X and thought it was time to try a few. So we asked for 20 models to review within our operations. The machines turned out to be very intelligent and the drivers love them. Their modern styling, the right driving environment and the physically powerful build quality make them ideal for our work.

“For many years we have been lucky enough to have Watling JCB as our dealer. This is certainly a great project from start to finish and it is indeed exciting to work with the team.

Tru7 Group, a family business founded in Suffolk, has a rich history spanning over 60 years. Under the leadership of Guy Nicholls and now his son, Jake Nicholls, the company has continued to expand its capabilities. It now operates van, truck and installation sales and rental businesses across its demolition and remediation, earthmoving, asbestos removal, concrete and aggregates divisions.

Through these types of services, Tru7 Group has built a list of high-profile clients including: Suffolk Highways, HS2, Morgan Sindall, Balfour Beatty, RG Carter, Barnes Construction and Suffolk County Council.
