Man City to aim at Star Summer

Manchester City would have planned to signal a summer of series stars.

The blue team from Manchester are enduring a nightmare of a season, with the belief being that it could be the end of an era for many current City players.

Pep Guardiola’s side have lost eight of their last 13 games in all competitions since the beginning of November, and the Catalan is facing the first major crisis in his managerial career.

Moreover, City are also due to hear the result of the Premier League’s 130 charges against them for alleged breaches of financial fair play regulations during the 2010s in the coming months, and this will have major implications for the future of the club.

If City found guilty, it is very likely that they will not point to any players in the foreseeable future. However, if he discovers not guilty, it can be as usual.

To that end, reports from Italy suggest that Guardiola is looking at Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar as a possible signing next summer.

Current goalkeeper Ederson, now 31, has been at the club since 2017 and could be moved on after eight years at the Etihad Stadium.

Ederson remains one of the most productive stoppers in the world, but Guardiola feels as if the squad desires a rejuvenation.

Il Messaggero states that City have been monitoring Svilar, but not concrete interest has been made in light of the pending verdict on their case with the Premier League.

Svilar has been a pillar of the Romani of the XI who entered the first team under the coach of Daniele de Rossi at the beginning of the year.

Since then, Serbia International has been for Gallorossi, and the club is eager to chalk it up to a long-term deal to pique the city’s interest.

Svilar was signed by Roma from Benfica on a free transfer in the summer of 2022, but had to bide his time at the club. With Jose Mourinho in charge, Rui Patricio was the first choice goalkeeper, but then changed when Mourinho was sacked by the side from the Eternal City at the beginning of 2024.

De Rossi settled as a goalkeeper coach, and one of his first decisions to update Patricio with Svilar.

Almost 12 months later and the 25-year-old Old has replaced one of Serie A’s most productive goalkeepers. According to the TransferMarkt website, his price tag is lately $17 million, but Roma will require a lot more than that to let go, especially if he signs a new deal in 2029.

Despite a terrible season for Rome in which they already have 3 coaches, Svilar has been one of the most prominent artists for the Giallorossi. With coaches changing system and defenders turning and converting in front of him.

Svilar has made a total of 58 appearances for Roma in all competitions, and has one cap for Serbia after switching from representing Belgium in 2021.
