Last month, Square Enix revealed that Hawkeye would be the first DLC character added to the video game Marvel’s Avengers. However, he will be the only hero on the way. Through the Playstation blog, Sony announced that Spider-Man would also be added to the game in early 2021. But Spidey will only be an exclusive Playstation on PS4 and PS5 as a loose update.
According to Jeff Adams of Crystal Dynamics, Spider-Man’s agreement with the Avengers will allow him to upgrade his device in some way.
“Players will face the world’s greatest harmful threats in combination, employing Spider-Man’s innate powers… strengthened with a little help from his new friends,” Adams wrote. “The partnership with the Avengers gives Spider-Man full access to the impressive generation of equipment, such as Hank Pym’s traditional generation of internet shooting, SHIELD, Stark Industries and more. And through construction, the best combinations of gadgets and skills, you have the chance to live your superhero dreams through your ideal Spider-Man.”
“It’s so private to me because I don’t forget a moment when I didn’t like Marvel and its colorful characters, all more genuine and plausible than everyone else,” Adams added. “There was a character I was reflected in, and that was Peter Parker: The Sensational Spider-Man. Now I manage to channel the excitement of my character life into an interactive hero edition that I hope will inspire the next generation of creators.”
Marvel’s Avengers will be on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Stadia and PC on September 4.
