Matt Baker recalled the moment he learned his family was “in trouble” after a scary incident on the farm. In 2021, Matt’s mother, Janice, 77, broke her leg after being riddled with sheep.
At the time, Matt wasn’t on the farm and was in the process of starting his own television production company, after leaving The One Show. The 46-year-old’s new adventure was aimed at allowing him to take a step back from the screen. and passing the cameras, until a television commissioner presented him with an idea.
During the brainstorming process, Matt received a disturbing phone call from his father, informing him that his mother had been impaled by a sheep and had to be rushed to the hospital.
Without a second thought, the presenter remembers that he temporarily picked up his family and animals and headed directly north to the family farm.
“My mom is the pastor, I mean, without a doubt, she’s the one who runs the exhibit there and I knew right away that we were going to have problems. As a family, we were waiting for something like this. It would just be a matter of farming or sheep telling Mom that things had to change. “
