Dubai: The “Men in Blue,” as India’s cricket team calls it, is the most popular cricket team, according to SEMrush.
According to SEMrush’s study, India tops the rankings, followed by England, Australia, the West Indies, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe.
Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian cricket team and arguably the most popular cricketer, has one of the most popular cricketers in the world along with Rohit Sharma and former skipconsistente with Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Kohli has been searched online an average of 1.7 million times a month from January to June this year, while the Indian cricket team has been sought an average of 240,000 times in the same month during the same period.
Other cricketers in the 10 most sensitive, according to the study, were Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, George Mackay, Josh Richards, Hardik Pandya, Sachin Tendulkar, Chris Matthews and Shreyas Iyer. From January to June 2020, each cricketer, respectively, searched the maximum number of times.
In addition, female cricketers also captivated cricket enthusiasts around the world. Despite not being in the 10 most sensible, Smriti Mandhana and Ellyse Perry were most frequently searched in 12th and 20th place, highlighting big names like Yuvraj Singh and Shi Dhakharwan.
“While we are not entirely surprised by the effects of our study, we are delighted. Noting that Virat Kohli is the most wanted cricketer, and in India, the most wanted cricket team is not unexpected, what is unexpected is that women’s cricket is more sought after than many of the best-rated men,” said Fernando Angulo, SEMrush’s head of communications.
“Our analysis suggests that the stereotypes of cricket as a guy who only plays sports no longer hold. There is a lot of enthusiasm for cricketers and women who play cricket. In the future, there will probably be many more women playing cricket, and in India, because the maximum cricketer is probably the maximum to supply many of them,” he added.
