Minnesota rock heroes, the Jayhawks, perform a set of laughs

After 35 years as one of Minnesota’s leading rock bands nationwide, the Jayhawks want a local performance.

His 1992 album “Hollywood Town Hall” helped put “alt-country” in Webster’s dictionary. His harmonious singles from 1995 to 2003 “Blue”, “I’m Going to Make You Love Me” and “Save It for a Rainy Day” have accumulated radio broadcasts. Their live screens are still popular too, with some hilarious covers – as you’d expect in this online functionality for the Star Tribune mini-tribune.

However, the Jayhawks’ newest album (their eleventh) requires a kind of reintroduction. The title “XOXO” is the closest effort to the group. All members played a strong and sincere role in writing and singing, from high-speed rocker.Tim O’Reagan’s high-speed “Dogtown Days” to the tender “Ruby” of keyboardist Karen Grotberg and several fellow risa Gary Louris/O’Reagan.

The emotional effects led Rolling Stone to win this award: “It’s hard to think of a fresh American band that can fend for themselves while operating the parameters of any genre or radio format explained as long as the Jayhawks in the open.”

“XOXO” can be obtained through jayhawksofficial.com and maximum music sales sites. The band also recently released unreleased live recordings on their Bandcamp.com page. They must hit the road early next year.
