MLB plans to create a bubble for the playoffs and world series

It’s possible that the primary leagues are still playing bubbles this year.

Following coronavirus outbreaks that have interrupted the season for 3 teams, Major League Baseball is moving the playoffs to a bubble, an informed user told the Los Angeles Times.

The league is preparing what the user called “emergency plans for the playoffs”, but warned that none of the plans are guaranteed. Plans can come with a postseason bubble or move some or all of the postseason to unbiased sites with warm weather and little spread of the virus.

The option of unbiased sites can be confusing, as an area for the virus in September can become a hot spot in October and the start of the flu season in the fall.

“The least harmful thing would be to have some kind of bubble,” said Dr. Dena Grayson, a Florida pandemic specialist.
