The futuristic sci-fi series Altered Carbon is over. Netflix has canceled its series after two seasons according to Variety.
Based on a novel by Richard K. Morgan, the series begins more than 350 years in the future, where consciences can be placed in new bodies, allowing others to live much longer. The exhibition followed political agent Takeshi Kovacs, played through Joel Kinnaguy in Season 1, Anthony Mackie in Season 2 and voiced through Ray Chase in the animated film Resleeved. A guy gives Kovacs a chance to have a new life, if he can solve a murder.
Season 1 began on February 2, 2018, season 2 came on February 27, 2020, and the animated film Film Resleeved premiered on March 19 this year. Season 1 was considered favorable through critics, as Mike Rougeau of GameSpot called it a “cyberpunk masterpiece.” However, season 2 of the exhibition hit the crisis of the moment, as it did not live up to last season’s expectations.
The animated feature film, which premiered a month after the start of Season 2, went unnoticed and won 65% of GameSpot’s sister site, Metacritic, in two reviews.
Netflix canceled many high-level series in 2020. This year, the broadcast canceled Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Patriot Act with Hasan Minaj, The Society and I Am Not Okay With This, just a few months after its debut.
