NBC News President Andy Lack Releases While Peacock Network Is Under Investigation

NY ATTORNEY GENERAL ON SEXUAL HARASSMENT CLAIMS ON NBC NEWS, REPORTER SAYS

The fourth paragraph of the statement has just said, “Missing has to resign and leave the corporate at the end of the month,” with no sparkling quotes about his tenure there.

“Andy Lack’s tenure as director of NBC News was a terrible failure, there’s no other way to put it,” Howard Kurtz of Fox News said Tuesday. “He explained through the world-class debacle that involved his refusal to air Ronan Farrow’s physically powerful report on Harvey Weinstein’s criminal sexual assault.”

Lack has been accused of spoiling a variety of sexual misconduct issues, ranging from his claim that Weinstein’s Farrow’s award-winning policy cannot print until he insists that the investigation into sexual misconduct in Matt Lauer’s office be conducted through other NBC executives rather than an entity exit doors.

Lack’s story took another primary turn a few hours later when investigative reporter Rich McHugh, who had worked for Lack on NBC as Farrow’s manufacturer, gave the impression of Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight”.

“Yes, I did, Tucker,” McHugh said, confirming that the New York Attorney General’s workplace is investigating NBC News for allegations of sexual harassment.

“It’s true. I’m aware of that. I’ve been looking for a story. It’s the civil department of the New York Attorney General’s office, so we don’t know if that can lead to anything criminal, but I know they studied that and interviewed the workers for several months,” McHugh said.

The New York Attorney General’s Office declined to comment on Fox News. An NBC News spokesman told Fox News that the company is unans aware of any investigations.

NBCUniversal did not respond to a request for comment on whether a possible investigation through the New York Attorney General resulted in Lack’s departure.

Linda Vester, a former NBC correspondent and former Fox News host, told Fox News Don on Tuesday that she met through the New York Attorney General’s workplace on NBC on January 7. The Attorney General is investigating allegations of an old sexual assault on NBC News.

“You have to assume that [NBCUniversal] heard about this investigation because it’s been going on for months and they’ve been given to talk to dozens of employees, so I think it has a role to play, there’s a new address upstairs, so they decided, “We’re going to check to get away from that black eye,” McHugh said when Carlson asked if Lack had been fired or forced to resign.

“It’s a smart first step,” McHugh said. “I’ll have to point out that I’ve spoken to several women, victims who worked at NBC, say that the fact that Andy Lack can get out of construction on his own is a disgrace. Array.. the fact that you may have a tendency to just leave is annoying.

Fox News asked McHugh on Tuesday if he had any minds on the beyond what he had shared on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

“It’s funny what the board is doing with all this,” he added.

In fact, it is possible that the Weinstein and Lauer scandals have simply been linked, according to Farrow’s book.

“Weinstein told the network that he was aware of Lauer’s habit and that he could reveal it,” Farrow wrote.

Prior to Farrow’s book, a 2018 Daily Beast bomb titled, “Accused sex stalkers thrived under the direction of NBC News frontman Andy Lack,” explaining how scandals appeared to arise under his direction.

He was not president of NBC News from 1993 to 2001 and returned to the Peacock Network in 2015 after high-level work on Sony Music and Bloomberg in the middle.

He returned to NBC News through his hard-held lifelong ally, Stephen Burke, the former CEO of NBCUniversal, who told him to let the mess go after host Brian Williams kept embellishing stories, embarrassing the once proud news division. But Lack’s return caused a new mess for the net when the Weinstein and Lauer scandals broke out in 2017.

Lauer was fired soon after for his own inappropriate sexual conduct and Lack refused to allow an outdoor lawyer to investigate others who were aware of Lauer’s sexual misdeeds. Instead of a white shoe law firm, such as other media outlets dealing with internal sexual harassment issues, adding Fox News, the lack allowed Attorney General Kim Harris to conduct the review.

Harris’ internal review ultimately indicated that NBC’s control was unaware of Lauer’s obscene behavior at all. The effects of NBC’s review were ridiculed by NBC’s media control agencies and employees, while former NBC News star Ann Curry said he did not participate despite publicly telling The Washington Post that he had complained to senior NBC News executives about Lauer’s behavior.

NBC NEWS BOSS ANDY LACK TARGETS FARROW’S CLAIMS THAT HE WAS NOT EXECUTED TO REPORT WEINSTEIN’S ALLEGED CRIMES

Last year, an organization of the most sensible women in the media sent a hard letter to NBC’s parent company, Comcast, for not easy answers.

The letter suggested to its board of directors “cancel the NBC resolution and open a full investigation into sexual misconduct within the data division,” allowing existing and former workers to speak despite non-disclosure agreements and have a face-to-face relationship. meeting with victims of sexual harassment. and advocacy leaders.

“Some network leaders have allowed for a corporate culture of widespread sexual harassment and abuse, and are still looking to hide it today,” the letter reads. “Comcast will have to tell its shareholders that it will prosecute the event on behalf of NBC employees. If necessary, it will eliminate executives who have abused or silenced women.”

Another women’s organization even protested outdoors at NBC’s headquarters in New York. Calls for NBC News to be responsible for its “toxic culture” have become so strong that then-presidential candidates Tom Steyer and Senators Cory Booker, Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren signed a 2019 letter urging the Democratic National Committee to act. before a number one debate on MSNBC.

At one point, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow even attacked hers for her handling of the Weinstein scandal.

Despite all the negative attention and replacement requests from all sides, NBCUniversal has publicly subsidized Lack, and many experts point to his relationship with Burke as an explanation for why the debatable executive is untouchable.

Lack even once issued a 10-page memo, along with a canopy letter and a topic chart, which dealt with allegations that Farrow and McHugh were ordered to delete Weinstein’s report after NBC’s “highest levels.”

Farrow, McHugh and former Weinstein Company and Weinstein’s accuser Emily Nestor publicly condemned Lack’s memo at the time.

Last year, he announced that Burke would resign in 2020 and NBCUniversal Film and Entertainment President Jeff Shell named his successor.

At the time, a familiarity with the stage told Fox News that Shell’s “first order on the agenda” would be to leave NBC News of Lack blank.

Shell’s first primary adjustments to NBCUniversal came Monday when it revealed primary adjustments to the company’s organizational design that were announced in the press that buried Lack’s exit.

Farrow used Twitter once Lack’s departure was announced.

“Andrew Lack is resigning after public protests calling for a replacement for leadership and a unionization effort within the company is not easy more transparency about harassment issues in this country. Recognizing the resources they talked about,” Farrow wrote.

Meanwhile, NBC News still doesn’t know how Donald Trump’s notorious “Access Hollywood” film was leaked from the internal news organization to the Washington Post’s David Fahrenthold.

NBC NEWS RENEWS NOAH OPPENHEIM’S CONTRACT, GIVING PREMIERE: ”STATUS QUO A BEENED’

Fahrenthold, like Farrow, won a Pulitzer Prize for reporting that NBC News had passed Lack’s direction.

Oppenheim’s role in the “Access Hollywood” debacle has gained negative attention within Comcast, the resources told Fox News, as he has been a close friend of Fahrenthold since his time in combination at Harvard University.

NBC has denied that Oppenheim leaked the tape to Fahrenthold, who, with Oppenheim, is connected to hillary Clinton’s investor Marc Mezvinsky.

Fahrenthold then won the payment for NBC News.

Some loyal to Oppenheim think it will succeed Lack, while other experts felt it was also obligatory to show him the door for NBC News to leave their culture blank.

Although Oppenheim was not promoted to the former Lack concert, he remains president of NBC News and will report to Cesar Conde, who was named president of NBCUniversal News Group on Monday.
