Neptune Energy has announced that it has to install the world’s longest heated submarine production pipeline in the Norwegian North Sea sector.
Just over 5.5 miles of pipeline has already been installed and tested as a component of the first phase of the project. When completed, the 22-mile electrically heated pipe-in-pipe (ETH) solution, which evolved and qualified through a collaborative technique with TechnipFMC, will send oil from the Fenja box operated through Neptune Energy to the Njord platform. Stale Ryggvik, director of assignments at TechnipFMC, said: “TechnipFMC is very pleased that the extensive qualification program for the ETH tube for Fenja has been completed and that the first segment of the tube has been installed on the seabed.”

“This technological advancement was made imaginable thanks to TechnipFMC’s regular efforts and fair cooperation with Neptune Energy,” Ryggvik added.
“This will open up opportunities to expand long-term assignments with complicated reservoir properties.We look forward to continuing the assignment and completing the installation in 2021,” the TechnipFMC representative continued.
Neptune describes itself as one of Europe’s largest independent exploration and production corporations.Founded in 2015, the company has a regional concentrate in the North Sea, North Africa and Asia-Pacific, according to its website, which emits that the company has an average production of 144,000 barrels of equivalent oil consistent with the day.
