Netflix ordered a 10-part live children’s series at Wildseed Studios, PrankMe’s full-screen scripted mystery company.
The newest bus is presented as a sci-fi road adventure, tells the story of an organization of unequal schoolchildren who come together to face a formidable new synthetic intelligence.
It is written and created through Paul Neafcy, who saw it via Wildseed after posting videos on YouTube from his room. Neafcy also worked with Wildseed on PrankMe.
Another YouTube creator, Drew Casson, will direct with Lawrence Gough and Steve Hughes, who have directed episodes of Doctor Who. Nour Wazzi is a fourth director.
The Last Bus will be filmed in Bristol and south-west England. Pre-production begins shortly, and filming begins in autumn.
“Although at the highest point, The Last Bus is a braided sci-fi game, at some other point it’s a harsh ecological fable about how the younger generation can be empowered to make other possible choices from the generation that preceded it. regarding the two wonderful and demanding situations of the time: environmental degradation and incredibly complicated synthetic intelligence,” said wildseed co-founders Miles Bullough and Jesse Cleverley.
