Netflix delivers first breakthrough of groundbreaking gay drama ‘The Boys In The Band’

Netflix has shared several photographs of its upcoming gay drama The Boys In The Band; you can see them below.

Based on Mart Crowley’s 1968 work, the groundbreaking stars Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory and Zachary Quinto of Star Trek.

The story centers on an organization of gay men who gather in New York to celebrate one of their birthdays. As the assembly progresses, the atmosphere begins to diminish when the enclosed host’s roommate joins the festivities.

Parsons appears to be Michael’s organizer, while Quintus brings to life Harold, the birthday boy.

Other cast members come with Andrew Rannells from A Simple Favor, Michael Benjamin Washington (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Charlie Carver and Tuc Watkins of Desperate Housewives, Wicked Robin through Jess, Brian Hutchison (Jessica Jones) and Matt Bomer of The Sinner.

Producer Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story, Pose), who had already re-released the exhibition in 2008, went to Instagram last year to announce that he, director Joe Mantello and they were going to present a long edition of Crowley’s play.

“Everyone on the cast was absent and proud of Array… and they felt very fortunate to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Mart’s historic work,” Murphy wrote along with a promotional photo of the cast. “The entire Broadway cast will reprise their roles in the film. I can’t wait to be on set.”

David Stone, known for his work as an actor, and Glee’s Ned Martel produced the film, while Crowley, who died in March this year, wrote the script.

Meanwhile, Netflix is testing a new feature called “Random Play”, which will see random streaming titles for an unsafe audience in their viewing history or playlists.

“The goal of the check is to make it less difficult for members to locate anything to watch,” a Netflix spokesperson said of the global check that is verified on connected TV devices.

The streaming giant plans to use the verification effects to implement a permanent “random play” feature on Netflix. “Hope is surely to produce something,” the spokesman said.
