One of the most anticipated shows on Netflix is actually 3 Body Problem, a sci-fi epic imagined through the minds of the Game of Thrones series. However, even though it was scheduled to be delivered this year, it turns out that it ran into some problems.
It was first delayed until January 2024, but now appears to have been rescheduled for release on March 21 next year. This was revealed at the end of an intriguing exclusive clip recently released through the streaming service.
In it, it shows Jack Rooney (played by GoT stalwart John Bradley) discussing a virtual reality headset with no “logos” or “no screens” and then putting it on. This, they tell us, transports him to another world, indistinguishable from reality.
Just like in Game of Thrones, David Benioff and D. B. Weiss was inspired by a series of cult books for his new presentation: the trilogy The Three-Body Problem by Chinese writer Cixin Liu. They joined the production team through Alexander Woo, who in the past won awards for his writing on True Blood.
The Netflix screen also stars prominent British actors Jonathan Pryce and Liam Cunningham (some nods to GoT), as well as Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange) and Rosalind Chao (Star Trek: The Next Generation).
The clip above, along with an earlier teaser, shows off an incredibly ambitious series that spans other timelines and focuses on a possible upcoming alien invasion of Earth.
Certainly, from what we’ve noticed so far, the series looks to be the blockbuster we’ve come to expect from the executive producers, and this may be a real watershed moment for Netflix — a return to form, if you will. prefer.
After price hikes and cancellations, it actually wants a fresher TV series to compete with Apple TV and Disney in terms of content quality. 3 Body Problem could become the solution.
We’ll find out in March.
