New drive-in theater from Rooftop Cinema Club lands near Cityplace

The Rooftop Cinema Club will debut its first drive-in in Dallas on August 25, just north of Cityplace, near the Central Expressway.

The opening programme, which will take place from August 25 to September 6, features a combination of fashion and old films that will be screened on a 52-foot screen. On August 25, Grease will air at 8:15 p.m. Raiders of the Lost Ark will be screened at 11 p.m. Tickets can be obtained online, Grease is sold out. Appearing to look does not involve any contact with the drive-in staff.

Rooftop Cinema Club on a London rooftop in 2011 and has since expanded to other locations in New York, Los Angeles and San Diego. Since the coronavirus pandemic hit in March, it has focused on the amenities of the Texas drive-in, adding two locations in Houston and one in San Antonio.

The Dallas drive-in is on North Carroll Avenue, near where the Dallas Leaning Tower made its last stop in the spring. The domain is being reshaped into a progression called The Central.

Ticket diversity from $ 22 to $ 35 depending on the vehicle. The cars will have to park “up to 10 feet apart,” according to organizers. The sound of the movie can be captured on the FM radio.

Guests watch the movie from inside their vehicle, platform or sedan. It is forbidden to sit outside, which means that there are no garden chairs or picnic blankets. Customers should wear a face mask and respect the rules of social distance each time they leave their vehicle. Disinfection products will be available in the on-site bathrooms.

You can bring your own snacks and drinks. They can also order food at the Rooftop Cinema Club or a variety of on-site food trucks. Orders must be placed online and consumers will be informed of the pick-up time, so they can stay in their car while they wait.

Product of the screening of Frozen II on August 31 at 8:15 p.m. will be taught at North Texas Food Bank and Black Lives Matter. Tickets cost $5.

Films to be released until September 6 include A Star is Born, Selena, Dazed and Confused, Dirty Dancing, Friday, Jurassic Park, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Pulp Fiction, Love Jones, Poetic Justice, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Greatest Showman, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Joker, as well as the circle of family films such as Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Toy Story 4 , Shrek and The Sandlot.
