The World Heritage Site of New Lanark has announced the return of its magical Christmas party next month.
From 24 November 2023 until 7 January 2024, with bookings now open, the historic site will be refurbished into a Scottish winter wonderland filled with a diversity of special events, attractions, activities and magic for families of all ages.
This year, a new ice rink with the logo will be built along the banks of the scenic River Clyde, which passes through the attraction, so visitors can spend the festive season while enjoying the views.

Santa Claus will return to his charming grotto, where children will receive a special treat and have the opportunity to share their Christmas wishes.
Elsewhere, there will be Santa Claus elves, box games and regular movie screenings at the New Lanark Cinema which will showcase a number of enjoyable old films such as The Snowman.
The New Lanark Indoor Christmas Market will also return where, in the run-up to Christmas, visitors will be able to explore a diversity of treasures and delicacies to find gifts from local vendors. The market will be open every weekend from Saturday, November 25.
Andy Cuthbertson, New Lanark’s Director of Heritage and Engagement, added: “We are delighted to bring our holiday party back to New Lanark, bigger than ever with the exciting addition of a new ice rink bearing the logo.
“Christmas in New Lanark is the best opportunity for family and friends to come together, create precious memories and create new traditions during the holiday season. We look forward to warmly welcoming our visitors.
This year, the charm has introduced the “Christmas Experience” package, where visitors will be able to visit the site, adding Annie McLeod’s Christmas carousel, Robert Owen’s school, Robert Owen’s house, the mill workers’ living quarters and a 360-degree view of the garden rooftop terrace, as well as the ice rink and Santa’s Grotto. Tickets for children under 16 are £19. 00.

Parking will be available and the site will also offer free transportation from the Lanark exercise station.
