A new trailer for The First Omen takes us back in time with a cool homage to ’70s horror.
The original Omen movie was released in 1976, which means that the old vibe of the new promotion is very appropriate. Check it out above.
The First Omen is a prequel to the original film and follows a woman named Margaret who travels from America to Rome to paint in a church, but when she arrives, she discovers a terrible darkness that leads her to her faith.
In fact, the new trailer offers some unsettling scares, with glimpses of horrific events and heart-wrenching screams, complemented by a delightfully old-fashioned voiceover and gloriously grainy visuals.
If you think you have an idea of where the film is headed, star Nell Tiger Free needs to set the record straight. “I tend to check YouTube comments when it’s 4 a. m. and I can’t seem to sleep. ” he recently told our sister publication, SFX magazine. “I like to take a look at everyone’s theories [in the trailer] because they’re all wrong, honey!”As if that wasn’t enough, he added, “Everyone is wrong!I hope we scare people. “
Along with Free, the horror film stars Ralph Ineson, Bill Nighy, Sônia Braga, Tawfeek Barhom, Maria Caballero, and Nicole Sorace. It hits theaters on April 5, so you don’t have to wait long for some scary scares.
