Online tool to help manufacturers get the most productive traceability

The Australian government is investing in the progression of an online self-assessment tool to help number one manufacturers find the right maximum traceability formula for their business.

Agriculture Minister David Littleproud said Honey and Fox Pty Ltd would get a $45,560 investment for his allocation of “Selection Systems” as a component of the government’s commitment to traceability of the chain of origin.

“The fishing industry will first gain advantages from this state-of-the-art interactive resource, with the allocation team working with fishing product manufacturers and their chain-of-origin partners,” Minister Littleproud said.

“However, all manufacturers of agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture are expected to access the tool, as it can be seamlessly changed to satisfy the wishes of their industries.

“There is a growing diversity of traceability technologies and systems, however, data on how they operate within agricultural chains and food sources may not be transparent to producers.

“The merit of this generation is that it will help them adopt or adapt to systems that they must already commercially have to better adapt to their situation.

“It will also get manufacturers to come with their consumers and make informed decisions.

“The ability to insinuate a product at all stages of production on the farm or on the ship, from processing, distribution, transportation and retail to consumer, fits into a popular business practice for today’s agricultural source chain.

“If done correctly, it can help companies become more competitive nationally and globally.

“Traceability is one of Brand Australia’s cornerstones that is based on accepting as true and allows us to meet the developing demands of our domestic and foreign consumers. “
