The Australian government is investing in the progression of an online self-assessment tool to help number one manufacturers find the right maximum traceability formula for their business.
Agriculture Minister David Littleproud said Honey and Fox Pty Ltd would get a $45,560 investment for his allocation of “Selection Systems” as a component of the government’s commitment to traceability of the chain of origin.
“The seafood industry will first gain advantages from this state-of-the-art interactive resource, with the allocation team working with seafood manufacturers and their home chain partners,” Minister Littleproud said.
However, all agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture manufacturers are expected to have access to the tool because it can be seamlessly changed to suit the wishes of their industries.
“There is a growing diversity of traceability technologies and systems, however, data on how they operate within agricultural chains and food sources may not be transparent to producers.
“The merit of this generation is that it will help them to adopt or adapt to the systems that are already available in the market to better adapt to their situation.
“It will also get manufacturers to come with their consumers and make informed decisions.
“The ability to insinuate a product at all stages of production on the farm or on the ship, from processing, distribution, transportation and retail to consumer, is in line with a popular business practice for today’s agricultural source chain.
“If done correctly, it can help companies become more competitive nationally and globally.
“Traceability is one of the cornerstones of Brand Australia, which is based on accepting as true and allows us to meet the developing demands of our domestic and foreign consumers. “
