Bella Thorne joined OnlyFans more than a week ago, raising more than $2 million on the subscription platform.
This news did not happen well with sex staff who make a living on the social networking site. On Twitter, many OnlyFans interpreters condemned Thorne’s high-profile arrival, saying he took advantage of opportunities for staff who rely on the subscription platform to obtain a source of income from the pandemic. The site, which has more than 30 million users, gained popularity in the mid-1940s.
On Thursday, the reaction intensified when OnlyFans’ new policies came into force. Updated regulations state that no provider on the site may qualify more than $50 for pay-per-view content and no user can tip more than $100. In addition, some foreign suppliers complained that they now had to wait 30 days to get paid for the site, when they could do it much faster.
Because policy adjustments coincided with Thorne, a former Disney child star who now stars in independent films, has her own weed line and directed a film last year for PornHub, joined OnlyFans, many users have publicly blamed her for the adjustments. But in a statement, OnlyFans said that “any replacement in transaction limits falls to any user.”
“Transaction limits are set to help avoid overspending and allow our users to continue using the site securely,” he continued. “We appreciate all feedback from the implementation of this update and will continue to review those limits.”
Jenna Foxx, who has been promoting content on OnlyFans since 2017, said she did not respond to the company’s response, calling it a way to “cover her buttocks.”
“OnlyFans is a full-time task for some of us, more commonly the only source of income that some of us have, when it has videos and other means to keep making money,” Foxx said. “She’s already rich, with the most sensible of the $2 million she won. He did no harm to anyone but the sexual network and did not communicate about it. That’s why we don’t agree with what happened.”
Meanwhile, members of onlyFans have also claimed in recent days that Thorne misled users by making them believe that she naked on the site, referring to a screenshot in which she allegedly promised a nude photo in exchange for $200. Thorne told The Times that he had never filed nudity on his page and said the exchange circulating on social media had been falsified.

In an interview last week, Thorne, 23, said he joined OnlyFans not only to earn a new source of income, but also to study a film he wanted to make with the director of “The Florida Project”, Sean Baker.

“By saying that Bella says it’s just an ‘experiment’ or by using it for ‘research,’ we’re degrading our work,” said Stephanie Michelle, a Los Angeles artist who has been on site for two years. “If you’d wanted to know how sex staff live, you may have easily noticed a lot of full-time creators working in Los Angeles. Thorne said he would not offer nudity on his page, where he charges $20 a month for a subscription. Until now, her page showed pictures of herself dressed in a bikini, smoking marijuana and eating a hot dog. He said he hoped the account would have a position where he would share non-public “good night and hello” messages with enthusiasts and be offered composition classes.
