An 8.5 million pound cinema complex is expected to open in Doncaster next month and paintings are now in their final stages.

The six-screen Savoy Cinema and Leisure Complex evolved and was controlled through the Doncaster Council, built through Lindum. It also has the support of local investment expansion in the Sheffield city region (LGF).

Partners involved in the assignment of Doncaster city centre won a review before it opened in mid-September 2020.

Ros Jones, mayor of Doncaster, said: “The new Savoy Cinema resort looks and will be another wonderful charm in our burgeoning civic and cultural district.

“It will frame Sir Nigel Gresley Square and the entire Cast concert hall, the municipality and the new houses that have already been built. Pipe for the Waterdale area”.

James Collington, managing director of Savoy, added: “We are very happy to be in the final stages of progression of Doncaster’s new cinema. The next few weeks will be occupied on site while we complete the internal structure in time for our opening. September.

“We are proud to install the newest technologies everywhere, our Vertex Premium format in Screen 1, next generation 4k laser projection and Dolby Atmos Immersive sound”.

Doncaster will be the sixth in the Savoy film network.

The allocation has earned 635,000 euros from local expansion investment for the Sheffield City Region (LGF) and, when completed, is expected to create more than one hundred jobs.
