Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and 8 Godzilla movies are the upcoming June streaming titles on Prime Video.
Oppenheimer, Nolan’s epic film about J. Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy) and the creation of the atomic bomb, won seven Academy Awards in March: Best Picture, Best Director for Nolan, Best Actor for Cillian Murphy and Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr. .
Unsurprisingly, Oppenheimer made his streaming debut on NBC Universal’s Peacock app because the film was produced through Universal Pictures. According to streaming tracker When to Stream, Oppenheimer will debut on Prime Video on June 18.
Ironically, 8 Godzilla videos from Toho Studios will also begin streaming on Prime Video in June. The Godzilla film saga, of course, is rooted in the fears felt by Japanese citizens after atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in World War II. In Oppenheimer they are not shown – and only commented on.
When to Stream reported that all 8 Godzilla movies coming to Prime Video on June 1 will include Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II (1993), Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (1994), Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995), Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (2002), Godzilla vs. Megaguirus: G-Strategy Annihilation (2000), Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: All-Out Giant Monster Attack (2001), Godzilla: Tokyo S. O. S. (2003) and Godzilla: Final Wars (2004).
A total of videos will be added to Prime Video in June, according to When to Stream.
