The highly awaited Internet series through “Cake” director Asim Abbasi, “Churails”, will nevertheless be broadcast in Zee5’s newly introduced segment, Zindagi, starting August 11.
This is the first original broadcast of the virtual platform organized in Pakistan.
A first poster for the series revealed Monday, which features an all-female cast led by Sarwat Gilani, Nimra Bucha, Meharbano, and Yasra Rizvi.
Written through Abbasi himself, the exhibition is perceived as a scathing attack on the repressive patriarchal formula of society that has corrupt prejudices opposed to women.
It tells the stories of its 4 female characters who face combat against the injustices inflicted on them through the men in their lives.
They’re eager to spread their infidelity and open a detective agency. They carry burkas and a force to consider.
In the words of the writer and director, the series deals “with strong women, who embark on an adventure of self-discoverion, empowerment and fraternity”.Are those burka versions of Abbasi’s Charlie Angels?
