Paste Media Acquires The AV Club

It sounds surreal to write those words, but Paste Media is now the official home of The AV Club, the legendary entertainment founded from the last pages of The Onion in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1993. We have no plans to consolidate or reposition the original Vision of any of the Arrays, as it takes its position alongside Jezebel and Splinter as sister publications of Paste Magazine, focused on quality writing on the topics we are most passionate about.

I’ve been a fan of The AV Club since its print days and have admired it as both publications transitioned from the print version to the online version. There won’t be many replacements anytime soon as we leave the platform site from its previous owners. ourselves for the next few months. One of the first things we did, even before we closed the deal to bring The AV Club into our group, was to make sure that the comments were reactivated and that the comment history on the site was restored. One of the things that makes The AV Club wonderful is its network of readers who keep the discussion going. In fact, we’re also looking to bring feedback back to Paste Magazine.

This announcement follows the relaunch of Jezebel and last week’s relaunch of the online political page Splinter. We’ve brought a subscription style for both of you, including bonus stories, interesting giveaways, and much more (one Jezebel subscriber just said, “The tote bag I earned when I subscribed to Jezebel (it’s probably the nicest bag I’ve earned when I subscribed. ” to something” and Splinter’s embroidered hat is gorgeous. )We hope to consider supporting one of those sites.

Our purpose is to make the AV Club as smart as ever and continue growing what we do at Paste, Jezebel and Splinter. We just hope to be a position where artistic, cultural and political writers can concentrate on writing. wonderful stories. You, Paste readers, many of whom have been with us for decades and through all the ups and downs of the media industry, make this possible.
