Paul Bettany, who plays Vision in the Marvel Universe, has revealed that Vision’s death scene in Avengers: Infinity War was improvised. Speaking to Collider, Bettany said that the series in which Vision dies alongside Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch didn’t work out as planned, so administrators Joe and Anthony Russo cobbled it together with Olsen.
“The Russo brothers came up to us [Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen] and said, ‘Hey, listen, can you improvise this scene?’And I said, “What, improvise while you’re a robot getting killed?”I don’t have a frame of reference! And Lizzie laughed about it, and we’re so comfortable with each other that. . . I don’t know how I would have funcionado. de otherwise, because we actually accept it as true among ourselves. And, somehow, we came up with something that worked.
Scarlet Witch kills Vision at the end of Infinity War to destroy the Mind Stone in his head before Thanos can get his hands on it. In a tragic twist, Thanos uses the Time Stone to undo this, bringing Vision back to life before Thanos himself smashes the stone and kills Vision again.
After Infinity War, Bettany returned to play Vision in the television show WandaVision. He will also play Vision in some other project with his own television show, Vision Quest.
Looking ahead, only one Marvel movie is slated to be released in 2024, and that’s Deadpool 3. Beyond that, Sony Pictures will release Madame Web on February 14 and Venom 3 later this year.
