Porn BangBros allegedly leaked millions of records, aggregating user data.

The BangBros site has allegedly exposed users and models, cybersecurity site Cybernews reported.

In June, Cybernews’ research team discovered more than 8 gigabytes of sensitive data on BangBros users. This data included IP addresses, usernames, messages, countries, and geographic locations, as well as names of styles, ages, and descriptions.

“Although credentials were leaked directly, hackers can associate IP addresses with identities from other leaks,” Mantas Kasiliauskis, a data security researcher at Cybernews, explained in his report.

The sensitive data was stored in an example of Elasticsearch, a distributed, searchable file storage system commonly used for giant data. The largest leak log contained around 11 million records. Cybernews researchers say that this data was probably not due to an “accidental misconfiguration. “

Cybernews contacted BangBros and the error was fixed. However, according to Cybernews, there is still a threat to users if adversaries obtain the data.

“If malicious actors controlled access to this data, they could simply hint at and link the behavior of the adult content audience to the people expressed,” Kasiliauskis said. “Combined with other proprietary information, this could lead to significant privacy issues, causing personal embarrassment, and leading to social stigma in people with conservative attitudes. “

Mashable has reached out to BangBros for comment and will update you if we receive a response.
