ATHENS, Georgia, August 9, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – The band Of Love and Lust (OLAL) will release their first single “Virginia on the Cross” on Spotify, Apple Music and all other primary broadcasts on August 14, 2020. Fans can add this song now on Spotify and Apple Music to have a chance to win a loose Of Love and Lust T-shirt. The video clip can now be viewed.
“Of Love and Lust” chose ‘Virginia on the Cross’ for our first bachelor because it captures the spirit and tension that reigns in today’s world. We recorded this after the Unite the Right demonstration in Charlottesville, Virginia. The path continued to evolve as protests in the United States evolved to eliminate Confederate monuments. The video advances into photographs of a statue of Lenin shot dead in Ukraine, with the conflicting parts of his removal cleaning graffiti and hitting flowers the next morning. The heated protests that oppose monuments are not new,” said the composer of OLAL Skunk.
“Virginia on the Cross” features 3-d audio samples recorded at protest marches in New York using the Barnathrough Pro 3-d Audio microphone. It was produced and combined through Gareth Jones in his London studio, mixing a modern EDM Nu Disco sound with an 80s Technopop influence.
Of Love and Lust (OLAL) has band members in 4 countries: Rush in Berlin, Germany; Kuzman in Skopje, Macedonia; Genius in London, England; Christie in San Francisco; and A-Bomb and Skunk in Athens, Georgia.
Gareth Jones is known for his album-generating paintings for Depeche Mode, Erasure, Interpol, Grizzly Bear and Nick Cage. Jones releases his own solo album on September 18: ElectroGenetic
