Kaley Cuoco has long been known for her talents as an actor but, in recent years, she’s also been carving out a space for herself as a producer. The Flight Attendant, Harley Quinn and Meet Cute are just a few of the productions on which she’s had such duties. Her latest producing venture is Role Play – an action-comedy that’s available for Prime Video subscribers. CinemaBlend was fortunate enough to speak with Cuoco, who spoke about the development process for the 2024 movie schedule entry. While doing so, she also revealed the most “important” element she and co-star David Oyelowo wanted for the film.
In Role Play, Kaley Cuoco and David Oyelowo play a married couple, Emma and Dave, whose family circle is in jeopardy after Emma’s secret life as a hitman is revealed. Needless to say, feature films can go through a lot of adjustments in their development. With that in mind, I couldn’t help but ask Cuoco still about the most important adjustments made. The actress explained that there were several permutations in her new film, once she and Oyelowo gave it a “new life”, an express theme began to come through:
Things change tremendously over time. I mean, I’ve had the script for a couple of years, actually, even before I met David. And, you know, normally those movie scripts, once they’re ready, they’re usually pretty defined, but this one required some minor transformations. I am sorry. I thought it was going to be a thing, and even just walking on set and having [David] sign up for me and for us being like that, he brought a great foundation to this project. Whereas I can be up there a little bit. And then we had this enticing role reversal that I don’t know, I think we incorporated the script. . . [We] gave him a life that was a little different than what I imagined maybe he had. After the message was about family, marriage, dating, and preserving all of that, I think that was very vital for us.
When it comes to an action movie like this, a level of spectacle is definitely needed, though there does need to be a grounding element. So one can see why the two lead stars wanted there to be a strong emphasis on family. That’s not to say that that element of the story overwhelms the film, though. The Based on a True Story star did get more than a few opportunities to engage in some stunt work. During our interview, she spoke about working on those scenes and how the number of those changed over time:
I enjoyed the stunts. I enjoyed the combat sequences. It’s grown since the first scripts, because I thought, “Guys, there’s a little bit of that, but maybe we deserve to do a little bit more. “Once they found out I wanted to do more, they added more, which was a laugh to them. But you know, it’s interesting, when you’re still on set, you’ve got the actors and you put it together, it’s like you take on this beautiful life of your own.

Like her co-stars, Kaley Cuoco has committed to the work of Role Play, which should come as no surprise. He has done glorious work over the years, dedicating himself to the roles that come his way. overwhelming for her when she was filming season 2 of The Flight Attendant. Cuoco also revealed in our interview that the character’s complicated affair with his own private life was a “24/7 depression. “However, he discovered his position and managed to give a forged Performance, which is a testament to Cuoco’s pictorial ethic.
This same strength manifests itself in her paintings as a producer and manifests itself in her preference for keeping family details in her new film. It can simply be said that it was sensible of him to try to maintain that historical theme. And maybe that’s something the audience will enjoy as they watch it unfold.
