“I went to Rome and sat down and watched the film and it was a humiliating experience, man, because I see it and many things have replaced it in my life,” Crowe said.

“I’ve had so many blows to the back and, you know, I’ve had big prizes and all that, and obviously that took me to another point for a while.

“But I saw this movie, and it’s a director’s movie. It’s one of the moments when: “Why did I get all the attention when the Oscar belongs to ridley Scott?”

The well-known director Scott did not get the most productive director gong (although he nominated), however Gladiator won the award for the most productive film, the most productive sound, the most productive visual effects and the most productive costume.

When Crowe told Burgess that he was writing the lyrics to a song, Burgess replied, “It doesn’t matter what day we’re. Kanye, is the day important?”
