Bullock continued as Slater, counting his time bars: “I just got . . . I stayed there for 20 years. Later, in what looks like a place to eat in a small town, someone asks him why he went to jail. Was it an accident, whatever you did?The pale expression on Slater’s face doesn’t change. She shakes her head.

That’s the setting of this Netflix ex-con drama, which also stars Vincent D’Onofrio and Jon Bernthal in addition to Bullock. “Released from prison after serving time for a violent crime,” Netflix’s press release explains, “Ruth Slater (Bullock) re-enters a society that refuses to forgive her past. “We started filming in February 2020,” Fingscheidt told Entertainment Weekly. But needless to say, until mid-March, everything was necessarily on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. “We arrived here in September and, of course, when I shot the second half, the shoot was different. We had to be very, very careful and informed about working with COVID.

Can Bullock perform well as a recently released gray-haired ex-con?Our first look at the film is really intriguing in that regard. Meanwhile, the release of the trailer on Tuesday has generated widespread excitement on social media. Many users on Twitter, for example, praised the cast.
