“Part of the things we want to continue doing is being open and communicating unabashedly about diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility. And when we in this company can say that this is an imperative project, then we will have achieved our ultimate goal,” he said on the podcast.

The Secret Service created an organization of staunch “game changers” to shape the “Inclusion Engagement Council” (IEC).

Biden claimed Trump was a ‘dictator’, a ‘Putin puppy’ the day before the assassination attempt

“The collective duty of the IEC is to help build, nurture, create and secretly motivate a workforce where diversity and inclusion are not just ‘spoken,’ but demonstrated through all workers through ‘Every Action, Every Day,'” he said. aggregate. The Secret Service’s website says so.

The IEC must go beyond selling equivalent employment opportunities and replace the culture “outside of the agency’s mandated requirements. ”

“Having a diverse workforce improves cross-cultural awareness. A successful organization is a cohesive organization, where all members have mutual respect for each other’s diversity and culture,” the secret service said on its website.

Andrew “Drew” Cannady, supervising attorney general of the Secret Service’s Office of Legal Counsel, explained how the firm went to Pride events to recruit applicants and, as a result, saw more transgender people in the service.

“We love all other organizations. We gain advantages from diversity. And in fact, I see more openly. . . trans recruits coming out of school, law enforcement recruits, which is great,” Cannady said on the agency’s podcast in 2022.

Cannady provides advice and guidance on staffing, human resources, security clearances, and other employment law issues within the agency. He said the Secret Service has systems in place to teach its workforce about the use of pronouns.

“We’re going to put things on Unity Day, which, for listeners, is the annual Secret Service Day, where we celebrate the various groups. . . that the secret facilities have in their workforce. And, you know, That, we’ve had things like a seminar on the respectful use of pronouns, to try to teach the workforce,” he said. “Because some of these things, you know, are innovative and new, and other people might just not know. “

“I think we’re going to have a Secret Service booth at Capitol Pride here in Washington. We’re going to do anything in Atlanta and New York. The Secret Service was heavily criticized for failing to save former President Trump from being shot at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, last weekend. Many Republican lawmakers have called for the resignation of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle.

She was appointed by President Biden to lead the Secret Service in 2022, making her the second woman to lead the agency. Prior to this role, Ella Cheatle was Senior Director of Global Security at PepsiCo, where she was responsible for leading and implementing security protocols for the company’s north. American facilities.

Critics have accused Cheatle of prioritizing “woke” ideologies rooted in DEI and focusing solely on recruiting the most productive people to the agency. Within the Secret Service, Cheatle is under pressure about the importance of expanding diversity within the Secret Service.

“The strategy is aimed at achieving excellence in talent, generation and diversity,” Cheatle said of the agency’s 2023-2027 strategic plan.

“I’m very aware . . . that we want to attract a variety of candidates. . . and especially women,” she said in an interview with CBS, which reported that the company is looking to increase the hiring of women to 30% of its staff.
