Sharon Stone Says She Was Sexually Harassed By Former Sony Pictures Chief

Sharon Stone claims she was sexually harassed by a former Sony Pictures executive, who allegedly made competing proposals to her at a work meeting in the late 1980s, before the “Casino” star became a surname.

Stone recalled several explicit main points of the incident in a lengthy interview on SiriusXM’s “Let’s Talk Offcamera” with Kelly Ripa, but did not call out his alleged attacker. This is the first time Stone has voiced an explicit #MeToo-type incident, even though she has hinted in past interviews that she was sexually harassed during her rise in Hollywood.

Sony, which was formed in late 1987 with co-presidents Peter Guber and Jon Peters, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Guber has never been publicly accused of sexual misconduct; Peters ordered a jury to pay $3. 3 million in 2011 to a former assistant who accused him of sexual harassment and hostile work environment.

Stone’s account comes from an audio clip from TheWrap:

Sharon Stone: “It was my Ralph Lauren jacket with the little ruffle on the shoulder, my jean skirt with the big ruffle at the bottom, and my cowboy boots, and I was so excited to wear my special outfit and meet the head of Sony . . . and I went to his workplace and it was, you know, the ’80s, so the couch was essentially on the floor, you know? They were these giant low couches and my knees were around my neck and, of course, I’m “He’s really tall anyway, so I look like I’m sitting all legs akimbo on the couch, and he’s walking around the workplace and doing exactly the same thing. “Oh, it’s true what they say about you and you are the most charming one. ” We haven’t seen anyone like you in decades. Everyone talks about you and chases you. You are the most eloquent. You’re so wise and beautiful and that hair. ” I mean, she had her hair down, you know, down to her waist and, ‘Oh, you’re just blah, blah, blah,’ and then she left, she came walking right in front of me and He said: “But first. . . ” and he stuck out his penis in my face and of course, I was very young and what I do when I’m nervous, because essentially I’m a very happy person, I started laughing.

Kelly Ripa: “That’s right. “

Sharon Stone: “I started laughing and crying at the same time and I couldn’t help myself because I was getting hysterical. I couldn’t help it, so he didn’t know what to do. Then, of course, he put it away and left. By that door was his desk, which I thought was gone, so I didn’t know what to do. So, I was sitting there, hysterical, and in spite of everything, his secretary came and took me out, didn’t she? It’s not the last in a long series of weird reports like this in my career, however, when I heard that woman say that, now you have to realize that it was like 1980 when this happened to me and now it’s 2023, which is 43 years later.

In January 2018, when the #MeToo movement was still in its early months, Stone was asked if she had ever been a victim of harassment or assault. At the time, he didn’t elaborate, but answered unequivocally, laughing knowingly at the question. and saying, “I’ve been in this business for 40 years. . . Can you believe the business I was put into 40 years ago, hunting like I was hunting?. . . I’ve figured it all out. “

During his “Off Camera” interview on Tuesday, he spoke about his statements over the years, suggesting that there were many other alleged attackers, but still only the Sony executive:

Sharon Stone: “My #MeToo was, ‘You know who you are. ‘If you need to come to me and apologize, I’ll settle for you. I’ll say, “I’ll settle for your apology and we can talk. “If you don’t, never sit next to me again, because if you sit next to me again, I’ll get up and say, “I told you, don’t sit next to me,” so believe me. I went to screenings where the only seat left was empty next to me and asked the men to sit on the aisle steps because they know, you don’t sit next to me if you’re a #MeToo and #MeToo. Tell me, don’t sit in that empty chair next to me unless I need to apologize.

Kelly Ripa: “Has anyone apologized to you? Did he come to apologize?

Sharon Stone: “A guy sat next to me and said, ‘I don’t know what you think I’ve done, but if you need to tell me, I’m willing to listen,’ and I said, ‘It’s time for you to get up.

I love it. She says it happened in 1980, when Sony was still calling Columbia: “It happened in 1980, so it’s been 43 years. “So who was the president of Columbia Pictures in 1980?
