During Shibuya’s recent redevelopment in a luxurious, state-of-the-art city, state-of-the-art high-rise buildings have been added to the horizon in recent years. Right next to the iconic Shibuya Crossing, you’ll find the flexible Shibuya Fukuras, the imposing Shibuya Scramble Square construction with its impressive Shibuya Sky platform and the renovated Parco branch.
The latest addition to diversity is the Miyashita Park made on top. Once a public park along the Yamanote Line, it has been remodeled into a new sublime complex, with a huge grocery shopping mall, restaurants and cafes, a hotel and a rooftop park with sports facilities.
While the rooftop park and The Rayard Miyashita Park grocery shopping center are now open, foodies will have to wait a few more days, as on-site restaurants and cafes will open until August 4, a measure to slow the spread of Covid-19 coronavirus.
At more than 330 metres long, the three-story Miyashita Park is the first assignment of the new Rayard logo from genuine real estate company Mitsui Fudosan, which combines advertising buildings and green spaces.
Don’t be intimidated by the facade of the floor, which is governed by luxury fashion brands such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Venture further to discover Shibuya Yokocho, a collection of restaurants serving specialties from all over Japan. The time and third grounds feature another 60 and more restaurants, while the rooftop park has an open lawn, a skateboard park, a block wall and a multi-purpose sports area.
Points of sale are a combination of domestic and foreign brands. You’ll find, for example, the top Asian spot in New York’s luxury fashion store Kith, owned and operated by shoe and clothing designer Ronnie Fieg, and the emerging store Shiro T Kiosk in Hatagaya #FFFFFFT, which specializes in white T-shirts.
On Face Records, a new stand-in the cult record store long established in Shibuya’s Udagawacho domain, you can find classics throughout the anime soundtracks. This is the best position to locate rare vinyls.
Complete your retail treatment with an appreciation of art at the Sai Gallery on site. A number of works by graffiti artist Kyne are currently on display.
Developed through the organizers of the Shibuya Harajuku Fashion Festival, Equaland Shibuya is one of the most exclusive boutiques in miyashita Park. The store provides a platform for leading designers and designers from other fields to sell their products for a limited time. The variety covers a wide spectrum, from fashion to divination.
Fans of Japan’s bilingual design and culture magazine “Tokion,” which caused a sensation in the 1990s before disappearing in the mid-2000s, can celebrate his return as Tokyon the Store by promoting a clothing and groomed clothing line.
Retail outlets and the green area on the roof of Miyashita Park are now open. Hotel Sequence will be held on August 1st and restaurants will be held on August 4.
But don’t leave right now. As a component of Miyashita Park’s crowd control measures, you’ll want to make a reservation in advance for a day and an express hour here (Japanese only).
