Soft-Tex more than doubles its capacity

WATERFORD, N.Y. – Soft-Tex International said it has more than doubled its production capacity at its plant here and other U.S.-based production partners in reaction to the development of demand for its products.

The corporation said these measures were components of its commitment to continue expanding U.S. chains to the corporation’s bedding product lines.

Soft-Tex said the expansion was primarily due to fiber and hybrid pillows and fiber bed product lines with proprietary technologies such as Reactex cooling, MemoryLoft and SofLoft fillings, and antimicrobial treatments with the Ultra-Fresh logo.

The expansion led to significant recruitment of production and shipping workers, adding to the release of more shifts and specialized sewerage courses, the corporation said.

In addition to existing growth, Soft-Tex has introduced a corporate initiative to increase U.S. production by at least 20% consistent with the year for the next five years and is actively committed to increasing domestic production capacity by launching a merger and acquisition task.

With these initiatives, Soft-Tex has teamed up with SEAMS and hopes to partner with other SEAMS members and other production and chain partners to continue SEAMS’ internal production expansion project, officials said.

“As Soft-Tex continues to source high quality products and materials globally, we see a tremendous opportunity to continue accelerating our domestic manufacturing,” said Scott Thayer, Soft-Tex chief innovation officer. “This is particularly important to us as we expand into new business channels and products.”

Soft-Tex cited recent consumer research showing significant consumer demand for products made in the United States. It said that domestic production provides retailers with the speed to market they need.
