The Guild of the actors of the existing screen – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG -AFTRA) and the writers Guild of America (WGA) put an finish to Hollywood productions, in sight.
Earlier this month, Warner Bros. Discovery said it hopes to return to theaters in early September, but a recent meeting between the WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) to discuss contract negotiations ended in a stalemate. , with There is no immediate decision. Return to planned conversations.
Sony said sales from its film activity will now decline from what it provided in April “basically because they have an effect on strikes. “The attacks, Sony said, deserve to lead to a drop in revenue stream basically due to delays in film and television. Sony has revised its forecasts for movie sales by 3%, although its prediction of the operating source of revenue remains the same.
For the three-month period to June 30, Sony Pictures suffered a 6% decrease in sales and a 68% decrease in operating income. Still, Sony Pictures saw strong performance of films released theatrically in the three month period to June. Sony’s biggest hit was Spider-Man: Across the SpiderVerse, which pulled in $591 million at the global box office.
In July, Sony photos behind a series of movies, adding Ghostbusters: Afterlife 2 and Kraven The Hunter. Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Ver got rid of the calendar. A Karate Kid restart also behind the schedule, with Blumhouse, listens to be behind the program indefinitely. Finally, the Bad Boys and Venom Suites now have dates for the summer of 2024.

I hope this strike leads to greater quality control. Writers deserve greater compensation, but there are too many people who should not write either.
Sony movies hurt Sony’s movie business
Like you’re doing a movie on kraven the hunter. The non spider man movies really feel like 90’s superhero movies like the punisher or darkman. Campy and just out of touch.
The strikes aim to make profits . . . That is the point. The only way in which the rich pay attention is when they get their profits. The challenge of homeless people in the United States will only get worse if we do not begin to take a decent salary seriously.
We could always go back to reading books!:)
Rereading the black wizard right now (Trudi Canavn) printed copy when I have time, I love it, I still have other things in the attic I have forgotten
I am a Local Assistant of the six hundred chamber of the CIG. Without paintings since the start of the strike. Sony and everyone else, even close, know how I and thousands of other team members on the line are suffering.
In the 1980s, when his opinion was requested on the War of Iran-Iraq, the former Secretary of State of the United States, Henry Kissinger, said: “It is a shame that none of the parties cannot lose. ” That is what many of us think about everyone else. In this strike, from studies, to the actors, to the screenwriters. They hate us and this feeling is mutual.
Don’t you say?! /s
A strike has to impact the means of production, otherwise it is utterly useless.
No one needs a Solo Kraven Spider-Man movie. There will be another Sony Mid movie coming soon.
Well, Hollywood has its own bloat and shovels. I think in general, smart writing has evolved in recent years, so if you improve products and creators so that they get paid fairly, I completely agree.
Not bad. This is the purpose of the movements. Studios can terminate moves at any time, which is unpleasant to see this article portray Sony as a victim.
The article should also mention the report that came out saying even without the strikes there was zero chance Spider-verse 3 was gonna come out next year.
I find it a bit strange when it comes to VFX, it turns out that the average spectator understands that the culprits are the executives of the study and not the artists, however, when it comes to writers they refuse to allow them the same carelessness.
Things are blatantly PC because leaders need a product. Plots, characters, and discussion suffer a noticeable loss of quality, as executives need writers to broadcast a TV show in a week so they can gain an edge over the festival in streaming. Wars.
The writers are being warn thin. We’ve all noticed the quality of content has hit the floor, you think the writers haven’t? Seems they want to tip the scales back towards quality rather than quantity again, as well as not having to work a second job in order to create what gets most of us by after we’re done our work. I support it.
Most of these movies are almost completed, the writers arent the issue here, its the actors not being able to promote.
Which, based on what the actors have said, it would be better not to sell with actors anyway.
Love to see the babies in the chat wishing they had a union to protect them and give them a better, safer job.
Form a union. Don’t be with those who already have a union.
I am in favor of smaller, more determined projects and less that they are not easy to receive workers not to pay them.
I agree. That it works.
Of course, Sony can simply settle for the union, even if other corporations do not, and then they can still make films.
Hopefully, this will cause them to double down on their games for a while. Perhaps it will have more sales to make up for the film’s losses.
I am quite sure that Sony was harming its cinematographic business long before the scriptwriter strike.
I doubt anyone knows the answer here, but the actors/writers/etc. Are they beating up other people who paint in various industries with video games still to continue painting?
Sucks That Morbius 2: It’s Kraven’s Time has been delayed.
This is Sony getting its excuses ready when Kraven does horrible numbers
Aww blessed. What if Sony is suffering as much as poorly paid screenwriters?
“If I have to spend 18 hours dressed in an iconic Disney dress, they will compensate me for the rest . . . Rachel Zegler
Darga all film studios. The CEOS of WB, Paramount and Disney are looking to make an exhibition to calm investors. One % wishes the staff, staff want %
I mean. . . Those videos were written through the writers who have been on the picket line lately. Which tells you everything you want to know about the quality of those scripts.
